I have set myself up with a long term goal - drop from 225 to about 170 or so. I did not want to put a time frame on it but I would like that all to happen by the end of the year if possible. The problem here? I set this goal in February and have done nothing about it! So, here is what I decided.
I need to have several short term goals that fit nicely inside my long term lifestyle change. I have been 165 before but this time I want to stay there. So, I created a short term goal that should put me in good shape to finish up my long term hope of a fitter me.
By the end of September (4 months away), I want to be at 195. This will be the first time I have been under 200 in about 4 years. That is 4 months to get my act together and get on with it.
If you are in the process of doing something like I am, I think it is important to set these short term goals. I like to think of it as a switchback for climbing a mountain pass on a bike or while hiking. Each little section you complete gets you one step closer to the top. That is what this is all about!
I will begin doing a "weigh in" each Monday and will report my findings. This week has started off pretty good and I hope I can keep momentum. I will talk more about my progress this week and what I have been doing tomorrow.
..be bold.
