...I have not done a great job in the first week or so of this whole deal. Not good. So, here is what I am doing now.
1. I got my wife involved. I told her that I need help with eating correctly and getting out and doing things in the evenings or mornings. That being said, today, we have started to eat properly. I will talk more about my menus in the coming days.
2. We are really getting in to riding. Our goal is to get on the bikes and ride. My wife is taking a lot of action to really get involved which helps me. I also am able to run again - I think - which is great since that means my broken ankle is getting back to normal. My goal is to begin running at least a mile or two every morning no matter what. We are also going to ride in a group ride this summer which will help give us a goal to reach toward.
3. Being positive. Yes, the scale said 230 this morning. That is the heaviest I have weighed in the past year or so and today is the beginning of the change. If you are positive about the experience, it will lead to a more successful journey. Keep in mind, my goal is not just to lose the weight - it is to get healthy and change my lifestyle - for good.
I will do my best to update this site every morning as my journal. I can say that with my other blog - A Though Over Coffee - it is tough. Keep me going.
Have a good Monday.

Getting fit in Oklahoma City - My Introduction
So, the time has come for me to get fit. I know, it is not New Years or anything like that. In fact, it is the middle of the week. Why in the world would I not wait until a Monday, the first of the month, my birthday or some other marked day. Well, I have done that to many times.
I'm a fat kid that just moved back to Oklahoma City - the USA's fattest city. I have been away now for almost 8 years and this is the heaviest I have been. So, I am going to get fit and reach the goals I have been talking about for the past 8 years.
Back in my freshman year of college, I got down to a my most fit weight I have ever been in - 165 pounds. That is where I want to be again. I am a staggering 225 right now. With this blog, I will talk about my goals, aspirations, and progress to my goal weight. I will also touch on things this city is doing to get placed better on the list of healthy cities in the US and things that are going on around Oklahoma City.
So, buckle in. I hope this will help those of you who need it in getting fit yourself. I can tell you that I will be open and honest the whole way through. Join in if you like. Be sure to comment on my blog and start one yourself. I will put a blog roll up when you let me know the address and we will all work together to get fit!
Enjoy.
